Another big month but for very different reasons
we play arch Rivals FC United away first up, and play Hartlepool in our favourite game of the year
so here we go
First up
THE DERBY




Both teams deserved something here, we dominated possession but they had far better chances
Hooper scored his first goal for us against his former club and looked really good whilst doing so, he's a top player hidden beneath a shroud of nervousness

a point in this isnt all bad, its a derby after all


 A good win, and a return to form from Jack
Puig chipped in with a beauty too, i just wish he was more consistent
but then again, if he was, he'd still be at Barcelona, so ill take having the inconsistently amazing one


Redshaw again showing he's a confidence player bags another and Maynard saw the game buried after 58 minutes
we blew Maidstone away a took 3 points back with the 39 travelling away fans
up the league we go


PHEW 
what a Rearguard action this was
Hogan decided to get sent off for elbowing an opponent after 2 minutes, and Piegianni followed him for 2 horrific fouls after 19 and 23 minutes
somehow, we then took the lead and proceeded to put the remaining 9 men in a solid line across the back and held hard
to salvage a draw from this was incredible
the lads did me proud
other than Hogan and Piergianni
They were fined 2 weeks wages

Remember that inconsistent player that turns up every few weeks and tears teams apart?
yeah
he's back here and with a magnificent solo effort culminating in a delightful lobbed finish, we brushed tamworth aside to extend our unbeaten month


what would a game against Hartlepool be without goals?
or a Hat-trick?
Redshaw made sure we didnt have to ask this by getting himself 3 goals after coming on at half time with us 1-0 down
what a second half performance and hooper again popped up with a goal
Looks like Tudgay brought in a good one with him


a point away, after this performance, is alright
Balboa saved us from the bench here, and we got away unscathed with a point
well, when i say unscathed...

our only first team ready keeper, this will be a tricky one to fix even just for 2 weeks.

meanwhile, out on loan this little ripper is doing a top job
we signed him after he scored 2 in a trial game in pre-season on £190 a week!
he may well make it at league 2 level, so could be a good youth asset from next season onwards!

Pre Season is upon us We have had our holidays in the sun, but the boys are back early, i need them in top condition for this season but first, the lads who wont be continuing on with us this year. Nottingham and Allen were taken on a Free just before they were released, they both deserve clubs as they are good enough, but not for the level we are at Phenix renewed his contract, but as he is slowing down for retirement, he goes onto a non-contract £0 contract but with a £900 appearance fee making him the clubs top earner, so he will play only when needed this season it would seem. A vital month incoming a potential round 3 FA cup is exciting still chasing down the required points to safety total is still at the forefront of our plans and a new look team ready to take on the world this season has the Salford faithful buzzing we are averaging 3700 fans a game this season and its fantastic day 1 when i took over we averaged 800 what a sequence of events what a journey so far who's looking forward to a 60,000 all seater in the premiership down the line? Im not i want 1 point thats all then we can dream round 3 here we come! a nervous encounter where only an own goal got us going Rabbi saw the tie off and we move to round 3 a money spinner? a giant killing opportunity? not quite Ipswich it's a championship team and this will be hard but theres a chance they are 20th in the league and struggling financially we might, just might have a chance here in front of a packed Moor Lane ...

A Salford City Story A Background Salford city, originally founded in 1940 as Salford central, progressed though the local leagues in the early years until 1963, when the club stepped up into the Manchester league and changed the club name to Salford Amateurs, also giving birth to the clubs nickname "the Ammies" Though it was in the 70's that the club had its first period of real success winning the lancashire amateur cup in 1973,1975 and 1977. 1977 proved to be a very successful one with the club winning its first and only Champion of Champions trophy too.  After this decade of success, the club managed to restore the derelict Moor lane to an acceptable standard and gained entry to the Cheshire League in 1980 and secured non-league status for the first time. Here it is The most challenging season starts here and its a tough run this month but that's going to be the case every month i would imagine now we are up against it but have been every season so far, so i have high hopes the recruitment drive went well, we've bought and loaned smartly and i think we have a good chance of causing a few upsets this year im aiming for mid table safety, but might have to reassess depending on how we start no chasing avoiding relegation this year, i don't need that negativity this season with what faces us we need to be brave we need to be confident let's do this! A happy new year to everyone! we are into January and it's the season of snow,y weather, postponed games and usually, a run of fixtures that will either make or break your season the lads are stocked up on turkey and pigs in blankets and have come back in virtually perfect condition I'm surprised With an FA cup 3rd round game for the first time in the clubs history, 2 big away games against Newport, who we should be beating comfortably and then Swindon, who will be very difficult to beat we have the chance to cement a  playoff place, but could equally find ourselves down in mid-table lets get to it Adrian! i nearly dropped my laptop when Adrian rodrgiues scored his first goal for the club the man the fans hated early on have now come to adore this clumsy yet loveable rogue in his new back three role and he repaid everyone with a bullet header 3 minutes in a brace from the ever reliable Redshaw, another from in form Rabbi and a cameo goal fro...

those 3 games to start the month are perfectly placed weaker teams we should beat easily and allow us to rest some players (im going to regret that arent i) allows us to save some energy for the old Gateshead kiddermister Gateshead triple header talk about season defining.  We rested most of the midfield and defence in this one as North Ferriby are total pants Phenix and Redshaw saw to these lot within the hour Routine  Remember when i dropped these two at the start of the season? As November rolled round i'd had a stark realisation i'd been scouting for players non-stop this season looking for who i could pick up on a free to improve the squad, but i kept coming up with the same kind of players Either, a big lad with nothing but strength a really quick but techincally useless winger or someone who wasnt much use but had 100 caps for a random sub 200 ranked nation i needed help Yossi is all well and good but as his knowledge only spans England and Isreal, he covers the same area on knowledge i have, but does recommend at least 15 players for maccabi tel aviv each week and then this guy was all of a sudden made unemployed Dutchman Patrick Busby was released from FC Groningen as they looked to improve their scouting set up, but at league 2 level, this guy is by a country mile the best scout in the league on average, a scouting in league 2 has 8 for judging ability and 7 for potential the second best in the league ...

And here it is Pre season rolls around and we move into the most challenging year of the clubs history ive been saying that a lot recently, but it's more and more true each time i say it We've achieved some incredible things, but this year will have to be something else in terms of effort and application as we take a shot at something we have never been anywhere near before and to start the month, we had a major departure from the backroom staff After interest from his homeland in Isreal Yossi Benayoun decided against renewing his contract at Salford and left as we entered July Yossi added some much needed experience to the backroom and will be missed. pre season 3

Season 3 It's here League football is coming to Moor Lane Im so happy to have gotten here in 2 seasons i was anticipating a year of adjustment last season, but we managed to over the pre-season 95/1 odds and came out on top this year brings the riches of league 2, and will give us far more wiggle room in the financial department, but, puts us up against far better opposition this will be difficult 650/1 to win the league we can write that off straight away, im hoping for survival, and anything above that is a bonus we are going to need to clear out some deadwood, save up those pennies, and build a squad capable of keeping us up.  First of all Budget time I've decided that as i havent spent a penny on transfer fees yet, im going to look to continue doing that as far as possible, thus hopefully getting us a decent kitty for when we get promoted again, so that being said, all the 1.3 million budget goes into wages instead ...

So its here The last game of the season and a chance for us to cement our place in history A chance to show exactly who we are and what we are all about to be etched into the history books we only need this one game to go our way and we've done more than we could have ever imagined so here we go It took an own goal an a whole bucket load of grit and determination but we did it!
