September

So heading into september, we needed to look at the FA cup as a good chance to not only earn some money, but to get some momentum and form going against lesser teams, however, with some struggling teams this month, we should be looking for a good points haul and hopefully a move up the table.

 Well well well
I said we needed to be more clinical and to start the month Jack Redshaw managed to grab himself a 30 minute hat-trick off the back of his first league goal of the season.
and all round good game but conceding 2 sloppy goals is a concern regardless of the score

Yet another game where we did everything we could to win, but Harrogate stood firm and managed to restrict us to a draw.
the less said about this game the better.

 This one hurt
this one really hurt
to say the team got the hairdryer treatment after this would be an understatement, losing to a distinctly mid table Brackley at home is unacceptable, big improvements needed or we risk sliding into the middle of the pack this season.

 Better
we managed another 4 goals and played well going forward however we still seem very fragile at the back, thats something we need to look into.
another goal for Redshaw keeps his good form going and hopefully, he can hit full speed going into these FA cup games.

I felt we needed something in midfield
the lads seemed to be able to win it deep, but werent able to move it forward with any real consistency and this was leading to sloppy goals conceded, so i went for unattached midfielder Ryan Burge to slot into the advanced playmaker role in the middle 3.
hopefully he can make a decent link between the back 4 and front 3 with some consistency.

 Better
this was very much expected against the lower league Ramsbottom and we need to move on from here with some momentum.
the next round of the FA cup awaits, and a nice little 8k in the bank balance is a bonus too.

 Am i seeing things?
is that a clean sheet?
and with another 2 goals for Redshaw, things are looking up.
Burge certainly seems to be making a difference in the middle and certainly brings some composure to the team.
hopefully we can keep this going

its a win.
a very unconvincing one, but a win is a win in the cup
we were outplayed on every front by a team 2 divisions below us and we will have to be better than that for sure going forward but nonetheless, it rounds off a more than decent month with 5 wins, 1 draw and that 1 horrendous defeat leaving us 2nd in the table and only a point off the top.
looking promising now, but i know exactly how dangerous this league can be,so im not getting my hopes up.

Player of the month

Jack Redshaw

a grea month for our number 9, plenty of goals and finally putting chances away has given the whole team a far better chance of picking up points.
