August

.
So we start the season off with a tough run of games.
Darlington will prove a tough challenge on the opening day considering the history between the two clubs, the two following away games at promotion chasing pair Chorley and Telford will be stern tests too.

I'd be expecting results againts stockport, Kidderminster and Spennymoor, but Soutport could be a really difficult game to see out the month...
1 game, 1 win, 1 clean sheet
like i said earlier, a team far too good for this level.
we dominated proceedings and after a fine back post tap in from Emmanuel (im not spelling that surname everytime he scores) we controlled the game and Darlington couldnt even muster a shot on target!
Dominant!
Ive already ordered the open top bus to tour Salford when we wrap this up by February.
"a squad far too good for this league"
*sigh*
after an early bullet header from Phenix had us cruising, bombarding the home team with shots on goal, Chorley brought us crashing back to earth either side of half time with two great counter attacking goals. We then found ourselves under the cosh for the next half an hour and somehow managed to survive until the 88th minute when Maynard rounded off a silky move with a fine low drive to take a point.
the open top bus can wait for now.

When its not your day, its really not your day
We threw everything at telford, but with what seemed like the non-league David De Gea in goal, we simply couldnt score. Telford had no intention of winning this match it would seem and a point here is 2 dropped for sure.
Relegation battle anyone?
 There we go!
the boys are back and after a flying start with Phenix getting his second of the season and Emmanuel too adding to his tally, we took the game away from Stockport and picked up our second win of the season.
im not getting carried away this time though.
Kidderminster were top going into this and we were second, and it proved to be a complete anti climax of a game. No real quality from either team and horrendous finishing, especially from the seemingly missing Redshaw left this game goaless.
its a point in a tough game though, ill take it
Any less than this and id have been gutted.
Spennymoor are shocking and this game showed it. Within 14 minutes we had a 2 goal lead both from corners. with no resistance from the home team we went into cruise control and that led to a moment of madness when Maynard got sent off in the opposing half with 4 minutes to go, it didnt cost us, but he will be missed in next weeks big game against southport.
 What a game!
A mad 13 minutes saw 4 goals and all of them top drawer.
Redshaw finally broke his duck from the spot and a point here isnt all bad, especially seeing as we came from behind twice.

An unbeaten month and we are sitting nicely in the playoff spots, the team seems to be gelling and we cant be far off a good run here, we just need to be a tad more clinical.

Player of the month
Ibou Touray put in a solid month, an assist rounded off his great month covering miles and miles in each game and contributing to attack as well as helping the team to keep a division leading 5 clean sheets in 7.
